Meals are not only an important part of the dietary requirements at Golden Prairie Manor, but they are also a very social time for residents to gather and enjoy conversations with one another. Our menus are reviewed and approved by our local dietician. Holiday meals follow a traditional route, and residents are able to choose their favorite birthday meal to be served to all residents on their special day.
Hot breakfast is served on Mondays and Fridays. This may include pancakes or French toast, sausage or bacon, fried eggs, and more. Wednesdays have become donut days for our residents, and the rest of the week cereal and toast are served.
Some examples of our noon meals include:
Turkey & Dressing Roast Beef
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy w/ Potatoes & Carrots
Green Beans Fruit Salad
Cranberries Dinner Roll
Pumpkin Pie
Chicken Enchiladas Fried Chicken
Spanish Rice Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Lettuce Salad Corn
Tapioca Pudding Strawberry Pretzel Salad
Shrimp Spaghetti & Meatballs
Baked Potato Glazed Carrots
Coleslaw Breadsticks
Coconut Creme Pie Ice Cream
Our evening meals tend to be a bit on the lighter side, but still very nutritious.
Evening meals generally consist of soup (potato, chili, ham & bean, broccoli cheese, chicken noodle, beef barley to name a few) and a deli meat sandwich such as ham, turkey, or beef.
