Our activities have grown!! And so has the fun! While Bingo and Exercises are still an integral part of our activity program at Golden Prairie Manor, a new element of fun has been added to our schedule. JulieAnn has brought puzzles, crafts, and games to life for our residents!
Tuesday mornings at the Manor are anything but boring when activities are happening. This is when you will be able to see (and hear) excitement in the air. Whether it be horseshoes, ring toss, toilet paper toss, or puzzle games, you will see a multitude of smiling faces taking part in the fun and games.
Break out the creativity hat. Tuesday afternoons and Thursdays, you can find residents putting their imagination to the test with a variety of crafts. Not only does this bring out creativity, but it also helps with fine motor skills. Holiday trees, Friendship flowers, stained glass imitations, and more keep the residents active and engaged.
While crafts and games are focal points for activities, there are those days when you just need to relax and keep the mind thinking. Crossword puzzles, word search, and hidden pictures are just a few of the simpler things that balance out our activity program. While residents work on their puzzles, they also visit about growing up, their families, their younger shenanigans and any other topics that come up. This is a great way for them, and our staff, to learn about a different way of life or things that are important to those we care for every day.
That is ok, too! If you are not up to coming out to an activity, the activity can come to you! Although group interaction is encouraged for a resident's well-being, we understand that sometimes you might not feel comfortable with an activity. One-on-one activities and crafts are also available. In addition, JulieAnn will read to residents too - - from the local paper to poetry and more.
